The archaeological zone of Comalcalco is an extensive area in which the most important architectural complexes are three huge ceremonial complexes. They are known by the name of the Great Acropolis, the North Group and the Eastern Acropolis, which is completely identified, although it has not been explored. Of the three is the first, the Great Acropolis which presents the most spectacular buildings, such as the Palace, the Tomb of the Stucco or Temples VI and VII, in addition to what is considered the first known Mayan cemetery and the so-called Comalcalco brick. , with the famous Mayan prophecy of the end of the world.
