The first stop before arriving at the archaeological site is Kaua, a town in the state of Yucatan. Cenote Saamal is a beautiful cenote that is open with a manmade waterfall going into it. You will need to descend down stone steps. There are multiple viewing platforms to take photos from.

After Mérida is the second city in importance and the oldest in Yucatan. Today it is a placid city where you can admire beautiful old houses, has great commercial dynamism and is a key point in the development of the state for its strategic location.
