What to Expect When Visiting Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico

This is the special selection of Tulum’s most popular dive & snorkel locations: the cenotes – the must-visit spots of Riviera Maya. The tour begins at 8:00am at the dive shop location in Tulum. If you are staying in Playa Del Carmen or Puerto Aventuras, we can also meet you at our other pick up locations, just make sure to let us know – make sure to write it in the comments. Your guide will be waiting for you with all the equipment checked and ready. We will get on the pickup truck and head off for the cenote adventure.

The first cenote you’ll visit will be Casa Cenote. It is located at 10 km north from the pick up location. Your free time in Casa Cenote would be about one hour. Those having a Discovery dive will have all instructions and equipment set up and then enjoy their first dive of 40 minutes. Casa Cenote is a dream come true for snorkeling and divig – open air cenote with emerald green waters. It feels as if you are swimming underneath a jungle –  going past mangroves in crystal clear waters with incredible play of light reaching its rocky bottom. Casa cenote is home to blue crabs, tarpon fish, barracudas, snapper and small fish.

After Casa Cenote you will visit the famous Dos Ojos – it means 2 eyes in Spanish, as it resembles a pair of eyes when looked from above. What’s underwater is even more impressive. Open water certified divers will try the Barbie line 1 dive of 40 minutes, the non-divers will enjoy a snorkel tour in the blue and clear waters of one of the most photographed cenotes.

We will take a break and enjoy a light lunch near the cenote, before we head off to back to the dive shop or to the pick up locations – about 1pm.
