What to Expect When Visiting San Miguel de Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Itinerary

Stop At: San Cristobal de La Laguna, San Cristobal de La Laguna, Tenerife, Canary Islands
First we take a ride on the motorway to the old capital city La Laguna. World nature protected since 1999 (UNESCO). Here we visit the local farmers market where you can find a bit of everything and in particular all the different Canary potatoes.

Stop At: Mirador Cruz del Carmen, San Cristobal de La Laguna, Tenerife Spain
Then we drive to the famous laurel forest of el Mercedes, and we start in Cruz del Carmen for a very nice walk and a 360º viewpoint. Here it is spring all year round and the environment is always amazing green. Further in the Anaga area we have time for a picnic with a view of the town Taganana.

Now we reach the far North of the island, Playa del Roque de las Bodegas which was known for the export of the local wine. After a short photo break, we drive back across the Anaga Mountains to the south where the very first constructed beach (Las Teresitas) with sand from the Sahara desert is located. Here we have time for a walk or a coffee break on one of the nice terraces with a view of the sea and various palm trees.

We drive past the capital city Santa Cruz with its huge harbour an area of approximately 12 km where all these gigantic cruise ships dock. We’ll take the last stop in the town of Candelaria, which is known for the basilica with the Black Madonna opened in 1959. The ancient kings of the Guanches also reside here next to the black lava beach and a small shopping street.

Finally we drive back via the highway to the south, and past the international south airport Reina Sofia towards your hotel.
