In this tour we’ll be visiting 2 of the best wineries in San Miguel area, we’ll learn about the process to make the wines, we’ll see the vineyards, and the cellar where the wines are aged, and will have a tasting of some of the best wines they produce.
On our way to the wineries, we’ll make a short stop at the Shrine of Atotonilco to visit it, and admire the religious murals from the 18th Century.
After this, we’ll drive to the winery Tres Raíces, where we’ll have a tree-course lunch, with 3 different glasses of wine.
Our last stop will be at the winery Cuna de Tierra, that has some of the bests wines in the region, where we’ll taste 4 different glasses of their premium wines.
Then we drive back to San Miguel.

The shrine of Atotoniclo is called as the “Mexican Sistine Chappel. Its ceilings and walls, are painted with murals, made in the mid 18th Century. The murals show some passages from the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ. It was declared as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 2008 with the town of San Miguel de Allende. And the old “Camino Real”, that was used to move the silver and gold from the mining towns, goes through here.
The drive from San Miguel to Atotonilco is about 20 minutes.
In this winery, we’ll visit the facilities, including the wine cellar, and will have a tasting of 3 different wines, and a three-course lunch, one course for each wine.
The winery has a very interesting architecture, with open spaces, and a wine cellar that is underground. We can also see the vineyards, that are specially pretty in the spring and summer, and a water reservoir.
The drive to the winery from Atotonilco is about 20 minutes.
This winery produces some of the best wines in the region, and it also has a very interesting architecture. Here, we’ll have a tasting of 4 different wines guided by the sommelier, who will be giving interesting information about each wine. After the tasting, we can have some free time to explore the winery.
The drive from 3 Raíces to Cuna de Tierra is about 30 minutes, and from here back to San Miguels it’s 1 hour.
