Tour Historic Heart of Puerto Vallarta & Bonus Tequila Tasting

This walking tour will cover many areas of the Historic Heart of Puerta Vallarta. During the easy 5 to 6 hour walk, we will visit many historic neighborhoods and explore hidden staircases, paths, and hidden gardens. We will visit a cemetery, and two very Mexican shopping pavilions. We will also visit the Melacon for a few blocks and explore the pier. We will visit a chocolate factory and walk to the lookout high above the Historic Heart of Puerto Vallarta. In general the guide will take you to the less visited non touristy areas of the historic district of old Town of Vallarta. We will stop for up to 30 minutes for lunch, resting, and/or shopping. Two Super bonuses added for Viator: First, a lecture on Tequila, Raicilla, and Mezcal with tasting opportunity of all three but focusing on the 4 different expressions of Tequila and favored dessert Tequilas. Second bonus is an introduction lecture to Mexican Opals found in the Tequila region of Jalisco and displays of gem quality Opals.

Walk through the Puerto Vallarta Municipal Sports Complex

We will walk a few blocks of the Malecon but most of our walk will take place on in the (on sidewalks) cobblestone streets of “Old Vallarta.”

We will walk along the rocky seafront of Conchas Chinas a very upscale neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta.

We will walk along a portion of the most popular beach in Puerto Vallarta: Los Muertos beach.

We will walk along the old cobble stone lanes and paths of the historic district of Gringo Gulch made famous by the vacation home of American actress Elizabeth Taylor and her husband Richard Burton.

We will have the option to climb hundreds of stairs to reach the Mirador de la Cruz overlooking the historic downtown area of Puerto Vallarta.
