Enjoy a bike tour on tranquil country roads travelling from Bucerias to San Juan De Abajo. See awesome scenery on this 40 kilometer bicycle ride through rural Mexican farmland on a relatively quiet rural roadway. Your tour includes all equipment and hotel pickup and drop-off.

This is an Intermediate level ride and you must be comfortable riding in traffic.  Mainly flat road. We recommend that you bring your own bike shoes/pedals/water bottles/helmet.

You will be picked up in air conditioned comfort at your hotel or condo, and drive to the ride site in Nuevo Vallarta or Bucerias. The recommended pick up time is 8am.  You will receive all equipment including premium Shimano 105 – 11 speed road bicycle rental, helmet (if required) , plus snacks, hydration, and vehicle support where indicated.  Please bring with you – your own clipless pedals, shoes, helmet, water bottles and your favorite cycling snacks. The ride is approximately 40 kilometers in length and the duration is approximately 2.5 hours – depending upon rider speed and number of stops along the way.

On the ride you will utilize your 5 senses:  taste, touch, smell, hearing and sight !  You may smell ripe Mangos ready for picking on the trees along the route .  You may see the majestic Sierra Madre mountains in the distance.   You may hear a donkey “hee-hawing” !  You may taste the local cuisine in a local taco stand.  And you may touch a local flower growing wild in a field.  You will be riding on a relatively quiet rural country road on good pavement.

After riding in the Banderas Bay area, many of our clients agree that riding here is not only scenic but also safe.  That said we should still be aware of our surroundings. As cyclists we do not have a steel frame around us for protection; therefore, we have to be vigilant.  We must be watchful for not only vehicles but also debris and obstacles on the road.  Here in Puerto Vallarta the dreaded tope is one such obstacle.  Topes, or speed bumps in English, are a common speed reduction method here in Mexico.  Not all topes are created equal.  They vary in size and shape and are not always marked, so keep a keen eye.   It’s hard to enjoy the ride if you are worried about being in harm’s way.  We only take you where we feel safe to ride.
