The first agave distillate of Mexico, Raicilla is one of the lesser known agave spirits of behind Tequila and Mezcal. Because of this, production is very small and artisanal. It is precious and harder to come by than the other agave spirits, making this trip extra special.
On this adventure, you will journey deep into the mountains and get to intimately know the Raicillas of the Sierra Madre and the producers who make them.
Not only will you get to taste the Raicilla, you will also receive a crash course on the farming, production, as well as food and cocktail pairings.

We will start at the beautiful Don Lalin Raicilla Distillery just outside of La Estancia. The distillery looks over a cliff and has a beautiful view of the mountains. We will be stopping for beef quesadillas or chilaquiles, a raicilla tasting, and a tour of the distillery equipment.

Time to walk around the Pueblo Magico (Magic Town) of San Sebastian Del Oeste. This town is a beautiful place for photos and checking out the town square. Here you can find raicilla chocolate and raicilla ice cream.

Tesoro De Oeste Raicilla Distillery ~ The only distillery in San Sebastian. We will be taking a brief hike to the location and will be seeing more of the narrow streets of San Sebastian along the way. Once at the distillery, Sergio will conduct a tasting of his precious raiclla.

Jardin Nebulosa, Ninfa Raicilla ~ We will take a Raicilla tasting class with citrus, seasonal fruit, grasshoppers, artisanal salts, herbs, chocolate. Pozolillo, soup, and cheeses. This restaurant is a world-class farm to table restaurant where they grow, raise, and distill everything themselves.
