You will be the only tourist at this cenote, we are lucky enough to be the only people using it. There maybe some locals from the village but this is very rare.
Itinerary
The tour starts at the world famous Selina Hotel, we allicat a bike for you. The first 30 minutes is making sure all bicycles are adjusted to each person. This is to make sure the journey is as comfortable as possible.
We depart the hotel at 11:00am to start our 35-40 bike journey to a new by village just outside of the jungle. Once here, we have the chance to buy snacks and drinks for the day. We prefer to use this shop for two reasons. 1. saves carrying anything heavy along the route. 2. We like to support the local community.
We then store the bikes before starting the 25 minute hike throw the jungle. We advise you to wear sports footwear due to this being very rough jungle terrain.
Once we are at the cenote, (this cenote doesn’t have a name due to only a few people knowing about it) You will have the next 3 hours to explore, swim, snorkel and relax.
This tour is a real natural experience and is as eco friendly as possible. On the way back, as a group we collect as much plastic as our bags can carry. We store this plastic at Selina and once a month we exchange every 1 kilo of plastic for one plant with a government scheme. These plants are replanted in areas of deforestation.
