We will go to your hotel in Oaxaca to pick you up at 8:00 am, to start our tour admiring one of the most representative areas of Oaxaca, its biodiversity, one of the most conserved in the State. Our first stop will be in the community of Las Ánimas, to learn about the process of making wooden utensils, such as the “grinder”. In Guelatao de Juárez, we will visit the Enchanted Lagoon, the museum that shows the work of Juárez and the replica of the house of Benito Juárez.
Capulálpam de Méndez was the first magical town in Oaxaca, its beautiful architecture based on adobe and quarry will surprise you. We will take a cultural walking tour through the quiet streets of the Town, we will visit the beautiful colonial temple, the Center for Traditional Indigenous Medicine and the viewpoint of the Cross.

Stop At: Las Ánimas, Oax., Mexico

The town of Las Ánimas, located in the Municipality of Santa Catarina Ixtepeji, still preserves its traditions and ancestral lifestyles.
Where they make the grinder is a traditional utensil of Mexican cuisine made of wood and used as a whisk, it is used to prepare hot drinks, mainly for chocolate. The craftsman makes grinders from the smallest of 13 centimeters in length to 60 centimeters.

Guelatao is a small mountain community, famous for being the birthplace of Don Benito Juárez García, Benemérito de las Américas. Its name means in Zapotec “Laguna del Encanto” or “Laguna Encantada”.

Located in the mountainous landscape of the Sierra Norte, Guelatao offers its visitors various cultural and historical attractions.
A must-see is the lagoon that exists on the site, in which – oral records count – Juárez used to graze his sheep, a fact that commemorates the statue that exists on the site. Around the lagoon there are gardens and lush juniper trees.

The Guelatao Enchanted Lagoon is located in the quiet town of Guelatao de Juárez. The lagoon is surrounded by tall trees, green grasses, and some carefully tended gardens. It is the perfect place to simply sit and enjoy the landscape or to have a picnic among nature.
Guelatao has probably become a popular tourist destination due to the fact that in this heavenly place, President Benito Juárez went from being a poor shepherd to being the best known president in the history of Mexico.

The forests of the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca shelter one of its Magical Towns: Capulálpam de Méndez, the “Land of the Capulín tree”, in the Nahuatl language. This beautiful corner is the cradle of the Zapotec culture, which preserves its customs and traditions and shares them with travelers through ecotourism tours, traditional medicine rituals or by appreciating its wood and textile craft workshops.
Another attraction of the Magical Town of Capulálpam, the main square surrounded by cobbled alleys, adobe houses with tile roofs and the imposing temple of San Mateo Apóstol.
