Stop At: 70420 Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico
Originally called Teocaltitlán and currently Teotitlán, the two Nahuatl words of the same meaning: “Land of gods”, etymologically are composed of Teotl: God, Calli: House, Titlan: Between, therefore it can be understood as: “Between the House of God ”.
In Zapotec it receives the name of Xaguixe which means “At the foot of the mountain”.
The main influx of tourism to the community is due to the production of rugs, these rugs are made of sheep wool and are dyed with natural dyes obtained from plants and animals, such is the case of the cochineal grana and fruit peels such as walnut or pomegranate.
These fine and elaborate handicrafts have made Teotitlán a world-renowned municipality, the elaboration of each rug depends on the size and color with which it is dyed, but on average it takes a month to make each handicraft.

Stop At: Hierve el Agua, Oaxaca Mexico
The petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua are the most special space in the State of Oaxaca and undoubtedly one of the greatest natural ecotourism attractions in all of Mexico. The arid landscape of the mountains in the Central Valleys region, contrasts with the pools where the water that meanders from the springs on the top of the hill is stored, which after falling through the waterfalls sinks to the bottom of the ravine, 200 meters deep.
The set is made up of two waterfalls that for millions of years have been petrified due to the mineral solution of calcium carbonate in the water. The slow descent of the water from the springs, slowed down in the pools and always running with the same intensity, has been creating these geological formations in the ravine that has a fall of approximately 30 and 12 meters in height.
