Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Ayutla Mixes, Oax., Mexico
Upon arrival in Ayutla, we will visit a traditional cook who will prepare a “Machucado”, a ritual dish made with corn, which brings together Ayutla families once a year to ask that hunger not reach their homes.
While we eat, our hostess will tell us more stories about this gastronomic ritual and about daily life in this community of the Sierra Mixe.

Pass By: Tamazulapam del Espíritu Santo, Oaxaca, Mexico
On our way to see the pulque producers we will pass through this community famous for jealously guarding their rituals.
Stop At: Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, Oaxaca, Mexico
In the second part of our tour we will visit the house of a family that has been producing pulque for several generations.
We will make a walk to the place where the maguey is located, from which we will obtain the “mead” that is the base of pulque.
During the tour we will observe spectacular mountainous landscapes as well as beautiful pulquero maguey fields.
Back home we will taste more traditional food prepared by the family.
After lunch we will take the way back to the city of Oaxaca.
