HIERVE EL AGUA – Spanish for “the wáter boils”. It is belived to have been a sacred place of the ancient Zapotec.The site consists of two rock cliffs, one rock formation reaching down twelve meters and the other reaching down thirty meters, both look like waterfalls. These formations are created by fresh water springs, whose water is over saturated with calcium carbonate and other minerals. There is a natural platform with four springs and pools in which visitors can swim in this thermal waters

TEOTITLAN DEL VALLE – Wool rugs in this town are made on domestic looms, using natural dyes like indigo, the cochineal seedling and the moss of the stone for their pigmentation. Designs include traditional Zapotec glyphs as well as Navajo designs and reproductions of famous paintings by Picasso, Miró, Matisse, Tamayo and Toledo (this last two are noteworth y artist from Oaxaca).
