Itinerary
Day 1: Zitácuaro is the closest town to the Monarch´s site. Check in
Pass By: Cuitzeo, Cuitzeo, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast
Lake Cuitzeo is the second largest lake in Mexico. As we drive out by the roadside, some migrating birds are visible as they go fishing in the lake
Pass By: Zona Arqueológica de Zirahuato, 61529 Michoacán, Mexico
The remains of temples and pyramids are found on the hillsides.
Stop At: Zitacuaro, Zitacuaro, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast
We stay overnight here to let your body adapt to the altitude & the weather of the volcanic area where the Monarchs come to hibernate.

Day 2: From Zitácuaro, we start the tour after breakfast at 8 AM. Check out

Enjoy the experience of watching millions of butterflies up to the volcanic mountains, at one of Mexico’s 35 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The further we hike in the woods, the more monarchs we can see, flying in between trees and, sometimes around people!
