Join your host Ligia at her small and simple home with a big, open kitchen. A native Yucatecan, Ligia is excited to share her grandmother’s Yucatecan recipes with guests at her home. After a sip of a refreshing drink, join Ligia in her kitchen. Here, you will learn to cook recipes that have passed down through generations in her family. Your traditional, hands-on, private Mexican cooking class will last about 2 hours. You will learn to cook three dishes from scratch. Enjoy learning about the tips and techniques involved in Yucatecan cooking before you sit down at the table to share the meal you helped prepare with Ligia.
If you choose the market tour option, walk through the covered market and explore local and regional produce sold by Ligia’s favored vendors. Purchase a few ingredients that you will use during your cooking class after the market tour. Your market tour lasts 20-30 minutes. After your market visit, Ligia will drive you 15-min to her home to begin your cooking class.
