Itinerary
Gray Whale Watching is one of Baja’s most thrilling activities you can do during the winter months. Every year, around 3,000 gray whales migrate to the calm lagoons of Baja California. During our Gray Whale Watching Tours, quality and personalized attention is very important to us, that is why our tours are for 4 people max*.
We’ll pick you up and you will have a 2 hour 15 minute drive to get to Puerto Chale. Once at Puerto Chale, you will hop on the boat and your marine biologist guide Valentina, will explain about gray whale biology and conservation. During 2 hours we’ll be actively looking for whales, watching their behavior and photographing them. Following the guidelines to have a respectful interaction is a priority for Freefall Academy.
We also have 1 extra hour at an inhabited island where you’ll have a 100% local and fresh scallop aguachile prepared by our captain’s wife, and have some time to relax. We also have the option to do bird watching at magroves on this time. Then you’ll get a ride back to the pier, and drive back to La Paz.
