What to Expect When Visiting Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico

Itinerary

Day 1: Chihuahua

Stop At: Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Northern Mexico
Arrival at the Chihuahua airport where you will be received by your provider at the destination and transferred to your hotel. Your travel documents containing hotel coupons, train tickets and itinerary will be at your hotel reception; Please request them in your hotel registration upon arrival.
Later (the time of your walk will be set upon arrival) you will enjoy a guided walk through the main points of interest of the city visiting the Pancho Villa Museum (closed on Mondays), Government Palace and its descriptive murals of history of the state, Cathedral, Colonial Aqueduct and the residential area.

Stop At: Museo Casa Chihuahua, Calle Libertad # 901, Chihuahua 31000 Mexico
We will visit the Museum of Pancho Villa and you will learn about his life and history in this city.

Stop At: Catedral Metropolitana de Chihuahua, Calle Guadalupe Victoria S/N, Chihuahua 31000 Mexico
We will visit this beautiful cathedral and surrounding historical sites, our guide will tell you details of its architecture and construction.

Day 2: Chihuahua – Creel

Stop At: Creel, Creel, Copper Canyon, Northern Mexico
Breakfast is included in the hotel. This morning at 9:00 am your guide / driver will contact you at the reception of your hotel for your transfer by road to Creel. On the way we will visit the Mennonite Community in the city of Cuauhtémoc (closed on Sundays) where we will enjoy a traditional snack (light meal) based on Mennonite cheese, cold meats, pickles, bread, cookies, jam; all of this prepared and cared for by Mennonites. Note: If the date coincides with a Sunday, the included meal will be exchanged at a local restaurant run by Menonitas.
After our interesting visit we will continue to Creel. Upon arrival you will enjoy a walk around Creel visiting Lake Arareco, the Valley of Los Hongos y Ranas (rock formations), the old Jesuit Mission of San Ignacio (Tarahumara church) and a cave inhabited by Tarahumaras. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy this picturesque Tarahumara town “Magical Town”.

We will make a stop on the way to admire this beautiful lake and take photos

Stop At: San Ignacio Mission, Km 3 Creel – Arareko, 33200 Mexico
This 18th century Jesuit mission is located in the San Ignacio de Arareko ejido. The town that houses it is typical Tarahumara scattered in 20 thousand hectares of forest and it is around the mission that the community meets. Next to it, there is a museum that exhibits 45 paintings of sacred art. You will be able to admire the views of the Valley of the Mushrooms

Day 3: Creel- Divisadero

Stop At: Divisadero, Divisadero, Northern Mexico
This morning at 10:30 am, your local driver will contact you at the reception of your hotel for your transfer by road to Divisadero (an approximate hour’s journey). After your registration, you will have your first encounter with the majesty of the canyon by enjoying your included meal in the hotel’s dining room that boasts a breathtaking view of the canyon.
We suggest a visit to the Barrancas del Cobre Adventure Park that is located in the area and where you can visit the different viewpoints, stone flown viewpoint, challenge your adventurous spirit on the suspension bridge that crosses a small canyon, ride the Cable Car or Zip lines (optional-no included), or just buy nice Tarahumara handicrafts. Then enjoy the Tarahumara sunset. Dinner included in the hotel.

Stop At: Parque Aventura, Av. de la Cantera, s/n, Chihuahua 31210 Mexico
We will optionally visit this park with zip lines, hanging bridges and rappelling activities. The entrance to the park is included as well as the cable car ride.

Day 4: Divisadero Barrancas – El Fuerte

Stop At: El Fuerte, El Fuerte, Pacific Coast
Breakfast included; then please go directly to the train station to board the tourist class Chepe Express Train at 7:30 am bound for the colonial city of El Fuerte. Enjoy the most interesting part of the train journey by crossing several bridges and tunnels that adorn the impressive views that the Sierra Madre offers.
Arrival at El Fuerte “Pueblo Mágico” at 3:05 pm where you will be received by Mr. Pedro Bernal (driver) and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon; walk through the cobbled streets, visit its colonial church, municipal palace, market, local museum, also take a relaxing walk along the river bank that crosses by one side of your hotel or just enjoy the beautiful facilities of your hotel . We also recommend that you delight your palate with delicious seafood dishes offered by the different local restaurants or the one in your own hotel; our recommendation: Cauque or river prawn!

We will walk through this beautiful magical town of cobbled streets, we will visit a market, the church and relevant points.
