The first stop is the Visitor Center, an introduction to the local forums and wildlife. We will then head to Caleta Valdés, a large cove that is home to southern elephant seals. We continue to the small and picturesque town of Puerto Pirámides to take a City Tour and visit Punta Pirámide, an impressive colony of sea lions. Finally, we returned to the dock. Along the way we will be able to see maras, guanacos and rheas. As long as the time allows, upon returning from the reserve we will give you a city tour of Puerto Madryn before dropping you off at the dock exit. Estancia San Lorenzo has a team of professional Park Rangers who are responsible for the conservation of the natural and cultural site. Out visitors can interact with them to learn about the latest news on the penguin rookery. For over 40 years we have encouraged the research on penguins, working with both national and foreign scientists. Back on the farm, our guests can visit the interpretation center and the traditional farm premises, and taste an exquisite lamb BBQ. We also offer other menu options, including a vegetarian menu.

Valdés Peninsula is a Protected Natural Area The importance of the Valdés Peninsula is due to the fact that its coast is the habitat of different species of marine fauna such as Southern Right whales, orcas, dolphins, sea lions and elephant seals, penguins and many more species. The calm waters of the gulfs and the jagged coastline make this area a true sanctuary for marine life. The Valdés Peninsula was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1999. Every year it receives thousands of Argentine and foreign tourists who come to the place to enjoy wildlife watching and the beautiful coastal landscapes.

Peninsula Valdes is one of the most important nature reserves in the Southern Hemisphere and one of nine World Heritage sites in Argentina. This peninsula's 3,625 km² acts as a refuge for many endangered species. In its bays, beaches, cliffs and steppes you can find whales, orcas, penguins, elephant seals, sea lions, dolphins, porpoises, guanacos, rheas and hundreds of migratory birds. The best time to visit the reserve is between September and March for the greatest concentration of animals.

The excursion begins early in the morning towards the Península Valdés Protected Natural Area. After an hour of travel, you will arrive at Puerto Pirámides, where you will embark for traditional regular whale watching between the months of June and December or sea lions and coastal birds between the months of January and March. The excursion will continue visiting the Punta Pirámides Seal Farm where you will be able to see the reproductive colony of one-hair sea lions along with the panoramic views from the viewpoints of the place. Then you will depart for Punta Cantor to observe the external coast of the peninsula, the incredible geographical feature that is Caleta Valdés, and of course you will retrace the different trails to be able to observe the colony of elephant seals and interpret the geological formations of the coast. Important information: The whale watching season is from June – December. The rest of the year, the observation cruise is closed.

You have to choose between: Punta Tombo and Peninsula Valdes. You cannot do both tours at the same time. Private Shore Excursions: This type of tour, allows you to travel with your party alone.
