Teide National Park is one of the best places to admire the sunset in Tenerife. In 2013, Teide National Park was declared a Starlight Tourist Destination and Starlight Reserve by the Starlight Foundation and since then the number of tourists interested in astronomy has grown, making Tenerife a popular destination for astronomers worldwide. The low light pollution inside Teide National Park (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is what makes it the perfect place for stargazing in Tenerife, as here you're almost guaranteed great night sky conditions, which will allow you to observe varios stars and constellations. Tenerife has a special law in place in order to protect these pristine star-watching conditions inside Teide National Park, by controlling the flight routes and limiting the light pollution inside the park. At an altitude of 2000 meters, we will discover the constellations designed by our ancestors and their brightest stars.

The tour comes in 3 parts: First: Your guide will point out celestial objects and constellations with a powerful green laser pointer and answer questions about the universe. Second: View details of a galaxy, a nebula, a star cluster and a red giant star through a star tracker/deep space camera setup and a Unistellar EV telescope 2. We also bring binoculars and a night vision scope. Third: Your Astro-Photographer will take a few complimentary stellar photos of you with the Milky Way. High Resolution upgrades are available. Stargazing locations vary each night depending on clouds and crowds. We stargaze on the slopes of Mauna Kea or Mauna Loa, whichever spot has the best conditions.

Your guide will point out stars and constellations of interest to the Polynesian navigators, relating some of the stories and legends that are tied to them, and explaining the techniques on how to find certain cardinal points of the traditional Polynesian compass by using the layout of the night sky. Look at the beauty of star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, stars and planets visible through our high-powered telescope before heading to Anakena Beach with the option of taking spectacular shots of the star-filled sky moai in the foreground. Finish the night with a hot beverage and a slice of local cake.

We will be taking a fun and wildly different look at the night sky, one filled with laughter, suspense, wonderment, spiritual connection, story telling along with the occasional "WOW" moments Connect and Experience the Stars the way our Native American Ancestors did, But with Modern Day Technology We use GEN3 Military Night Vision Binoculars, that light up the sky like it was 1000 years ago. This allows us to see the sky the way our ancestors would have before light pollution. Utilizing this technology allows us to see thousands and thousands of stars no longer visible with our naked eye. The moment you put these binoculars up to your eyes you will be transported to another time. Our guests are immediately blown away by the experience. The Mi’kmaq people call it "etuaptmumk" or two eyed seeing LIGHT PAINTING – Long Exposure Photography capturing the milky way with a smartphone.

Experience a "star party" like you've never seen before! On this experience, you will be directly engaged in the live imaging of deep space objects such as far-away galaxies and nebulas! Our smart telescope is unique in that you don't look directly through it…there is no eyepiece. It is a highly advanced deep-space observation station that takes many long exposure images and broadcasts them to our group! We also use an 8" computerized telescope to view more deep space objects, planets, and the moon.
