All of our Friesians are used in our breeding program as well as workshop and riding horses. Even the babies are used for our tour groups and horsemanship classes. The island is 5.7km by 4km , which means that bikes are the ideal method of transport. On your arrival at the pier, choose your bike to hire and get ready to explore. (There is a daily ferry service all year round from the pier in Cleggan to Inishbofin.) Inishbofin has various cycling routes offering spectacular views of the island’s wild Atlantic scenery. There are several safe award-winning sandy beaches strewn with shells and with crystal clear water which make swimming, snorkelling and diving a joy. Inishbofin is a special area of conservation and a special area of protection. The island is a breeding area for many species of birds. Visit the habitat of the world's rarest penguin. Walk through a private nature reserve on this guided tour for a chance to see the endangered Yellow Eyed Penguin, Little Blue Penguins and NZ Fur seals in the wild. Specially designed hides allow for close viewing of Yellow Eyed Penguins in their nesting habitat *please note the penguins are not kept in captivity in the reserve and they may not always be visible from the hides. A visit to the penguin rehabilitation hospital is also included in this tour. This tour also visits the Royal Albatross Colony for a guided tour of the nesting area. In modern Bulgaria there are several enthusiasts who have rescued these breeds and some of them are ready to introduce you to these wonderful rare animals and to tell you what care should be taken for them in a specially created Center of rare breeds, the Association and the farm. Since the beginning of the 1990s, the association has begun to work to save the authentic Karakachan dog and the other two breeds of Karakachans – the sheep and the horse which were completely destroyed during socialism. There is the main herd of original Karakachan sheep, thanks to whose creation the breed was saved from extinction. A herd of the Kalofer long-haired goat was also set up to preserve some of its most typical representatives. The fun photosession with the best representatives of the breeds is also awaiting you with the unique degustation of the bio food products, produced by traditional authentic technology.
