Our Pickups begins bright and early, with pickups starting from 5:30 a.m. in summer and 6.am in winter seasons, We'll pick you up from your location and transfer you to Pico do Areeiro. After enjoying the awe-inspiring sunrise, we'll arrange a pickup at the other end, allowing you to hike at your own pace. You'll start your hike from PICO DO AREEIRO to PICO RUIVO carkpark at Achada da Taxeira. Once you've completed your hike, will be waiting to transport you back to Funchal, ensuring a comfortable and convenient return journey. This walk starts at Pico do Areeiro, at approximately 1818 meters above sea level and we make our way to the highest point of Madeira, Pico Ruivo, around 1861 meters. It is possible to witness panoramic views of Madeira over the central mountain range that are absolutely breathtaking. This is the only known breeding site in the world of Zino’s petrel (Pterodroma madeira), an endemic species considered to be the most endangered seabird of Europe. In this area, the vegetation of altitude is predominant, mainly of Centenary endemic Urzes; these large trees predate Madeira’s discovery. To reach Pico Ruivo, we must go around Pico das Torres up a steep incline of steps carved in the rock and then descend, the most difficult part of this trail being the final climb to the Shelter at Pico Ruivo. But the thought of reaching the highest point of the island is a driving force. Near the Pico Ruivo shelter, we take footpath, which leads to Achada do Teixeira, where we finish our journey.

Witness Madeira’s legendary sunrise from Pico Areeiro (1818m), avoiding traffic queues, parking fees, and PR1 path access fees. Your adventure starts with a pickup at the Cristiano Ronaldo Museum, about an hour before sunrise, followed by a 35-40 minute drive to the peak. Upon arrival and after a quick briefing we’ll hike along the iconic PR1 trail connecting Madeira’s highest peaks, making stops at breathtaking viewpoints like Ninho da Manta and the famous Stairways to Heaven ridge. As the first light graces the horizon, you’ll capture unforgettable photos while soaking in the serene mountain atmosphere. The return hike showcases even more stunning views during the golden hour. The trek lasts 40-60 minutes, with stairs and night walking adding an adventurous touch. This experience is about 3:30 hrs in total, from pickup to drop-off. Please note the trail may pose challenges, including potential vertigo. In case of unfavorable weather, we’ll reschedule or offer an alternative tour.

Our Jeep Tour to Santana offers a dynamic journey through Madeira, highlighting both the island's rugged interior and scenic coastal views. This is a shared tour, small group max 9 people that takes you to Pico Areeiro, one of the best spots in Madeira for sunrise. Here we will stop for 2h30/3 hours and the guests can see the sunrise and hike the stairway to heaven and back. After the driver will be waiting to bring you back to hotel.

Our transfer service begins bright and early, with pickups starting from 9 a.m. We'll pick you up from your location and transfer you to Pico Ruivo at Achada da Taxeira carpark. You'll start your self-guided hike from PICO RUIVO towards PICO DO AREEIRO. Once you've completed your hike, our driver will be waiting to transport you back to Funchal, ensuring a comfortable and convenient return journey. at 4-5pm Join our Mountain hike self-guide and let us take care of the logistics while you focus on enjoying the majestic Mountains and the freedom of hiking at your own pace. ( you can use the this reservation to one way to hike, but you still need to buy complete ticket. You will be classified as a no-show on return.)

Hiking Pico Areeiro to Ninho da Manta We start our tour with an amazing view at Pico Areeiro, from where we will have a small hike (and back) to Ninho da Manta. On the way to there you can expect dramatic landscapes, a unique flora and a tour-experience which makes your friends green like envy. The way back and forth is around 45 minutes in total. Picnic & Sunset Natural cinema: Picture yourself having a picnic with local snacks amidst the stunning scenery of Pico Areeiro, when the sun goes down. Here is your opportunity to discover the best of Madeira. We start our tour by visiting Pico do Areeiro, one of the highest peaks in Madeira. We continue our journey along the rural paths of Ribeiro Frio, making a brief stop at a local bar where we show off our traditional Poncha (optional). We continue the tour along the agricultural roads that take us off-road through the Laurissilva forest to Santana, where we take a break to try the local cuisine (lunch) and get to know its culture, such as the Santana houses. We resumed our walk, along the old roads to Miradouro do Guindaste. We continue to the easternmost point of the island, Ponta de São Lourenço, ending our trip back to Funchal.
