Mezcal Tasting

Our experience is an educational tour to learn about the culture of mezcal and all the tradition that surrounds it. We will begin our trip starting from the center of the city of Oaxaca and we will visit the towns of Mitla and Matatlán. There we will take a walking tour through our majestic agave fields with thousands of specimens, where we will be able to learn more about this plant, as well as having enough time to do a couple of activities and of course the best photographs. Then we will continue to an artisan mezcal distillery to learn step by step, the entire artisan process of making our drink. At the end of the tour, we will have an unlimited tasting of different varieties of mezcal. Finally, we will share a traditional Oaxacan meal at a local restaurant, already included, and of course, More Mezcal!

On this 4+ hours group walking tour, you will learn from your guide all about Lucha Libre while enjoying mezcal and guacamole. The Lucha Libre Experience includes entrance tickets to Arena Mexico, free souvenir (Luchador Mask) and mezcal tasting. If you do not drink, we have options for you. You will arrive to Vas Que Vuelas Mezcaleria an authentic mezcal bar with more than 50 Mezcal brands including their own bottles. We will first start with an explanation on how mezcal is made followed by a tasting of 3 different mezcals, each made of a different agave plant or from different regions within Mexico, you will be able to taste the variety of flavors and notes of each plant and region in which they grow. After the tasting we will finish with a quick class on how to prepare a delicious mezcal cocktail (you can drink it also!). The entire experience takes about 90 minutes, trust us, you will leave happy and being knowledgeable on mezcal and Mexican spirits.

The state of Sinaloa is known for its mezcal, and this guided tour offers an introduction. We pick you up anywhere you choose: hotel, condo or at the port. Then you driver will take you to our ranch. Once we arrive to our ranch, we can see 55 hectares of agave plantation, different types and sizes of agaves. We also visit the mezcal factory and show you all the process to make Mezcal. After, we do Mezcal tasting: white, reposado, almond, coffee, mango, tamarin, hisbiscus. To finish we have lunch in our restaurant; machaca burritos, beans, salsa, handmade corn tortillas and mezcal flambée cheese. You will have time for shopping.
