Andres Ulloa, host and guide who represents the brand, more than a guide is a local chef, knowledgeable and researcher of Caribbean culture and its flavors. He was also born in the historic center of the city. These combined qualities are not possessed by every operator of gastronomic tours. As a complement to the tour experience, the Chef and Guide offers an additional list of suggestions of his favorite local places and activities.


Jaco’s Wild Morning – Monkeys, Crocs & Local Flavors


This short adventure will take you to the Monkey House in Caldera, Puntarenas. There, you’ll be able to hang out with the white-faced monkeys in their natural habitat and see them playing and eating. This place is like a shelter for the monkeys; they have been living there for many years, so part of the income is destined to help get food and care for them. After that, it will be time to taste a typical Costa Rican breakfast of gallo pinto with a natural drink or coffee. The last stop, will be at Tarcoles Bridge, to see the american crocodiles.


LOCAL FLAVORS! Half-Day Bike Tour with Olive Oil Tasting


Discover the local flavors of Catalunya! This tour takes you on an 18 km trip through the Costa Dorada mountains, along a reservoir and through a typical Catalan village. In this village, you will have the chance to learn about the olive oil-making process in an olive museum. There you will have the opportunity to try the exquisite olive oil of the Cooperativa of the village, winner of many national and international awards. Afterwards, you can buy this oil or some other local products in the shop of the Cooperativa.
