Queenstown Kawarau River Whitewater Rafting


Raft the Kawarau River, perhaps better known as the River Anduin in Lord of the Rings, for a great half-day activity in Queenstown This is a perfect introduction to whitewater rafting for first-timers. There will be plenty of rapids action plus time to sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery. Catch the free shuttle from the centre of town out to the raft base where you will be fitted out with all your gear. Your rafting adventure covers 8-kilometers of the river. Take on grade 2-3 rapids and perhaps the occasional grade 2-4 rapid, when there are higher water levels. Enjoy flat stretches of river between the rapids where you have the opportunity to race your friends on the other rafts or jump out and swim. Conclude your adventure by rafting the longest commercially rafted rapid in New Zealand, the Dog Leg. This is a 400-meter long and grade 3/4 rapid. Add some extra excitement by joining in on the optional cliff jumping section, or sit back and watch your friends take a leap.

Arrowtown To Queenstown: A Full Day Mountain Biking Adventure


This self-guided ride begins with a prompt shuttle bus to Arrowtown, where you’ll be fitted with a bike and given all the details for your ride. The ride follows the stunning Arrow River Trail, crossing the river via a few spectacular bridges. You'll then join the Twin Rivers Trail, which winds alongside the Kawarau and Shotover rivers, with some challenging climbs along the way. The route finishes at Around The Basin's shop in central Queenstown (3 Searle Lane). With 36 km of hilly terrain, this ride will take around 3.5 to 4 hours. We recommend an electric bike to make the journey more comfortable and enjoyable, helping you tackle the climbs with ease while you take in the beautiful scenery. Bike The Wineries Full Day Ride – Queenstown


This self-guided Full Day ride starts with a prompt shuttle bus departing from Around The Basin’s shop in Queenstown to Arrowtown. There, you'll be fitted with a bike and given all the details for your ride. The first section covers 15 km (9 miles) of scenic trail, following the Arrow and Kawarau river gorges, crossing the Edgar Swing Bridge, and reaching the iconic Kawarau Bungy Jump Bridge. In the afternoon, enjoy cycling through the Gibbston Wine Region, where you can stop at as many cellar doors as you like. The full ride covers around 25 km (16 miles) of undulating, gravel trail. The shuttle will pick you up at the designated time given in the briefing on the day from your chosen winery in Gibbston Valley. Queenstown Classic Wine Tour: 3 Vineyards, Caves and Cheeseboard

There, you'll be fitted with a bike and given all the details for your ride. The first section covers 6 km (4 miles) of scenic trail, following the Arrow and Kawarau river gorges, crossing the Edgar Swing Bridge, and reaching the iconic Kawarau Bungy Jump Bridge. In the afternoon, enjoy cycling through the Gibbston Wine Region, where you can stop at as many cellar doors as you like. The full ride covers around 17 km (11 miles) of easy, gravel trail. The shuttle will pick you up at the designated pick up time given to you on the day from your chosen winery in Gibbston Valley.


Arrowtown To Gibbston Valley: Ride the Arrow River Bridges Trail


This self-guided Half Day ride starts with a prompt shuttle bus departing from Around The Basin’s shop in Queenstown to Arrowtown. There, you'll be fitted with a bike and given all the details for your ride. The ride starts by following the spectacular Arrow River Bridges Trail to the historic Kawarau Bungy Bridge (approx. 13 km). From there, the trail continues 3km into the Gibbston Valley, where you will be collected at Gibbston Valley Winery, departing in the scheduled bus back to Queenstown and the time provided in the briefing on the day.
