You will be picked up in Battambang around 1pm, then we'll start with a short tuk-tuk tour of the city, passing major historical landmarks. Next, we'll head out into the Battambang countryside for a unique ride on the original old Bamboo train, organised by local people (*see below for bamboo train ticket cost – see Excluded).
Continuing through the countryside, we'll stop at a fruit farm, visit Battambang's famous suspension bridge (great photo opportunity), visit a local mushroom farm and learn how local people grow mushrooms in the village. Excursion to the Gravina di Matera and the Bat Cave
A panoramic excursion in rocky habitats, flanking the Gravina di Matera and its stream which extends for 20 km, from the foot of the city of Matera, made famous for its Sassi and declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.
We will follow the stream along the ridge of one side of the ravine, enjoying the landscapes of the Murgia Materana Regional Park.
First by exploring the rock church of San Nicola all'Ofra, a farmhouse with its rooms dug into the cliff that communicate with each other: tunnels, stairways, cisterns, churches, developing on 3 levels of height.
And then the karst Bat Cave, among the oldest evidence of human life in this area, a series of corridors, a breeding site for flying mammals, a place that hides the treasure of King Barbarossa between history and legend and where thanks research carried out in recent centuries revealed Paleolithic tools and fossils of extinct animals, such as the cave bear.

Cave Tour with Local Guide
You will be visiting 3 of the remarkable caves here on the Island together with a Native or Local tour guide. We will pick you up at the ship's port or your hotel or apartment. Transportation from and to your accommodation is covered.
The caves are located on the North side of the Island. One at the entrance of Santa Barbara and one just down the road at Hill Top; we will stop at the second Cave. This area is rich in caves.
The first Cave we will be visiting has a ladder you must climb to get into Cave. When you are in the Cave, there will be bats and many unique rocks.
When you are in the Cave, you will see a lot of types of limestones, as you can see in the pictures, and some of the rocks look like they have gliders on them because when you shine your light or flashlight on them, they start glowing.
If you like cliff jumping, we will be visiting a small and low cliff jumping after the cave tour. It is enjoyable!!!! 🙂 The ridge is not high at all, and everyone can jump from it.
