Nizwa Al Hamra & Misfah
The tour starts with a spectacular drive through the Hajar Mountains via Fanjah for photo stop. Continue to the old town of Birkat Al Mauz then we drive to Nizwa "Oman's old capital city" – in Nizwa we visit the Souk which is famous for its Bedouin silver jewellery and beautiful crafted clay items.
After that visit the impressive 17th century Nizwa Fort you will be amazed by superb views of oases whilst atop the 25 meter high canon tower of the fort. Next stop From here you will be taken to Misfah, a village seemingly hewn out of rock. Passing to Al Hamra one of the last loam villages in Oman.
Al Hamra Geological Tour
The guide will pick you up from the residence heeding to Albatinah Provence. Wadi Bni Auf is the starting point of the off-road experience. However, after driving in an unpaved road, the guide will stop and show you the entrance of the snake canyon and the rocks that smell like a rotten egg. He will also explain to you the interesting facts about petroleum and its relationship with that smell. After that, the journey will keep moving for almost another hour in the mountain road passing by isolated villages, farms and Falaj until you reach the balcony in Hatt Mountain to enjoy the view of the road from 2000m above sea level. After this great adventure, our guide will take you to Alhoota cave to examine the cave from inside and visit the geology museum. After that, the guide will take you to Misfat Al Abriyeen to take a walk in between the old houses and farms and have a good meal in the village. No prior experience nor special fitness required since it is a rather light trek and anyone can enjoy the walk, even if you do not want to go the entire distance.
It is kids friendly, however, we highly recommend keeping kids close by and under supervision at all time.

This hike is easy, but do not underestimate the heat in the area.
Recommended items to enjoy your experience:

As a rule of thumb, please inform someone you know when you are starting the hike and when you expect to return.
